Academic Apparel Co. began with a simple wish: something good to wear to the conference, and something worth giving to the person in your lab who just crossed a finish line. As a licensed psychologist who spent years inside graduate training, I kept searching for apparel and gifts that gave a knowing nod to academic life, and I kept coming up short. So I made them. Every piece is designed for the people who live this work, and who deserve to feel as impressive as they are.

I have spent a large part of my life in academia. Through all those years, the moments that stayed with me were the small celebrations: a colleague defending, a labmate landing a grant, a friend presenting for the very first time. I wanted to mark those milestones with something special, something that carried a secret, inside awareness of what this life actually feels like. That is the heart of Academic Apparel Co.

I am also mindful that only a small share of people in academia come from historically marginalized identities. This brand is a way to celebrate the scholars who, despite being pushed to the margins of scholarship and research, made real strides and added their voices to the conversation.
